T'is over again that beautiful (warm) summer. We are already in October. Time goes fast. After Tongeren fair everything gets going again it is said. Which processional group can I still join?
|
|
|
|
At the group leadership meeting in June, we received a lot of positive news from the procession groups. We already count 2,700 participants. That's 150 more than at the same time when preparing for Coronation 2016. The list you of groups that have reached their participant numbers is growing. But you can certainly still join a number of groups. Here is an overview

Do you already have the new Coronation Flag?

|
|
A new Coronation year presupposes a new Coronation Flag. That is the Tongres tradition ! Actually, we can offer you three flags to decorate the Greater Tongres streets and squares. You can already buy the small and large flag at the following addresses

Thanks to MINI DAVO Tongeren, we can dispose of a MINI CLUBMAN since September. RVL Insurance Tongeren takes care of the insurance. On September 7, the new Coronation Wagon was presented. A few years ago the deanery of Tongeren expanded. In addition to Greater Tongeren, the deanery now includes : Hoeselt, Bilzen, Riemst and Voeren. We would also like to involve the residents of these municipalities in the Kroningsfeesten. The tour of the Sunday churches in the new deanery began on September 24. Here is the calendar

Coronation street committees take action
|
|
|
|
In March 2022, we held a first meeting with the street committees. 23 committees attended, accounting for 30 decorated streets. On Wednesday, October 19 at 8 p.m. we expect all street committees, new committees are also welcome, for another information meeting. This will take place in the ballroom of VIIO Tongeren located at Sint-Truiderteenweg 17. Together we can make Greater Tongeren a beautifully decorated city.
