With rapid strides we are now heading toward THE Coronation Week from July 2 to 9. Sunday is already Easter. Less than 14 days later on April 22 there will be the Day for the Expatriated Tongans. If you know any Expatriated Tongans inform them about this. Saturday, May 6 is the Coronation Opening Concert where, among other things, the theme song will be performed for the first time. You can still register for the May 6 Mary's House workshop. If you are one of the men leaving a Coronation beard, be sure to read the last post. Happy reading, a blissful Easter and.... yummy eggs.

Invitation : Day of Deported Tongans

Saturday, April 22, we are organizing the "Day of the Tongres who have emigrated" on the occasion of the Kroningsfeesten 2023. On this day we would like to tell you more about the state of affairs regarding the preparation of the Coronation 2023 as well as show you the new Tongeren. We expect the Tongeren expatriates from 13:00 in the Velinx (Dijk 111 Tongeren). Afterwards we visit together

May 6 Opening Concert Kroningsfeesten

|
|
Saturday evening, May 6, at 8 p.m. in Our Lady of the Basilica, the opening concert of the 19th edition of the seven-yearly Kroningsfeesten will take place. During this concert there will be the world creation of the Coronation Song "Oh Mary, dear lady" which was specially written in the context of the theme of this Kroningsfeesten : #Search connection. "Wôïet?" three thousand euros!
|
|
|
|
Roger Swerts filled the cultural center De Velinx three times with his show "Wôïet? Supported by 7 top musicians, he performed new songs and conferences but also the indestructible classics he used to add to the Tongers cultural heritage with Dë Bjètels. Roger promised that the proceeds would benefit the Coronation and he more than kept his word. On Monday, March 27, he stood at the Coronation Secretariat with a "giant check." Thank you Roger !

Coronation Youth Day July 5 & 6
|
|
|
|
The coronation is there for both young and old. Yet there is one day in Coronation Week that we want to experience especially together with young people from Tongeren, Limburg and beyond.

Youth Day will take place on Wednesday, July 5 and Thursday, July 6. Like the coronation festivities, this day will also be dedicated to # search connection. The youth put together both a day and evening program. Curious to know what to expect ...

The Coronation Package : something for you

Stand tickets and evening game tickets

Maria houses project : do you participate ?

Tongres graffiti artist Flipka (Philippe Vroonen), together with enthusiastic Tongres, wants to realize the project Mary's Houses as part of the Coronation theme #Search connection. Central to the project is a temporary chapel made from reclaimed materials. On Saturdays April 29 and May 6 in the afternoon, there will be a workshop at the chapel for 20 people each. Just like 7 years ago, Tongeren portrait photographer Bert Daenen is planning an expo on Tongeren's Coronation beards, "barba coronium.
|
|
